PREPAREDNESS - Students will be prepared for their sessions with any course notes and other materials. The student will have reviewed concepts and attempted assignments prior to the scheduled tutoring session.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY- A tutor's role is to reinforce and review concepts and foster a collaborative learning environment. It is NOT to do a student's assignment for them. Students SHOULD NOT ask a tutor to do their work for them, as it puts your tutor in an ethical dilemma, and is a form of academic dishonesty.
COURTESY and RESPECT - Students should interact with their tutors respectfully and courteously, during and outside of appointment sessions.
LENGTH - Tutoring sessions are limited to 1-hour and 1.5-hour sessions and may extend by the tutoring center's discretion (but they may not be extended by more than 30 minutes)
CELL PHONES - No cell phone use during any tutoring sessions (These will be kept in a safe location at the front reception desk during session and returned after end of session)
CANCELLATIONS - Cancellations of sessions with less than 24-hour notice will incur full session payment. Repeated cancellations of scheduled tutoring sessions of more than 3 instances will incur a penalty fee ($50)
NO-SHOWS - The time of the tutoring center and its tutors is valuable and in high demand. Students should arrive on-time, communicate any circumstances with the tutoring center, and attend all scheduled sessions. Not showing up to an appointment should be avoided at all costs.
